Summer. Summer. Summer.
Summer in my head equates with a a lot of changes. Personally, I blame the heat. This makes a lot of people go berserk that they do eccentric things that are totally out of their characters. As what was presented in Nick Joaquin's Summer Solstice, the sun, humidity and extreme summer heat suffocates the person, forces his caloric fats to yield into the salty fluids dripping all over his body, makes him extremely uncomfortable and thus finally making him to all the crazy things his otherwise yuppy and corporate self will never approve of, e.g. singing loudly, dancing like the hottest stripper on the block on the skimpiest outfits. You know what I'm talking about, get your imagination going.
Being the unconventional self that I am, I don't make any new year's resolutions, I only make summer resolutions. I mean, I am bound to do something just to avoid the heat right? So this Saturday, I did started all the changes I am aiming for.
I am someone who cares very little about my hair. Unless you catch me on the rare days where vanity becomes me, I would care very little on how my hair looked like. Last Friday though, when vanity became myself, I noticed a lot of splitends in my hair, remnants of a day two years ago when my tita decided to have my hair colored with red and have it rebonded at the same time. The color though did not last for even a week, because the minute I set foot in Cavite, I had to have it dyed to black because my highschool does no permit colored hair. For about a month, my hair looked normal but after that very glorious month, my hair started growing, the roots became the dull brown that they really are and the black starts to wear off which leaves a hint of brown that when mixed with the red underneath left a copper colored hair. Good thing I am on the mestiza side as I was able to pull it off. I had a few haircuts, until all that was left were about 2 inches of the disastrous copper colored hair. Yesterday, wanting to shed my disastrous
hair history, I decided to cut those off, leaving me with a shoulder length layered hair. Very healthy hair, though of course, shorter than I would normally want it to be. Luckily, I have still at least a month to go to parties I am supposed to attend as it is the debut season. I am praying with all hope that it does grow back soon.
Change number two. I decided to go back to my old habit of sweating myself out. Mostly because it takes away most of my emotional and school related stress. It does good for the body, and I suppose with the weight too.
Change number three. I decided to take a more active role with my organizations. From now on, school will be my number one priority. Nothing else.
After all, my blogthings result cannot stress more that I am really determined about my goals. After resetting my priorities, I'll be more involved with school today.
I bade myself goodluck with these. With all finges cross, I hope i will have another chance of being a university scholar. Inspriation kasi si Shena. Ang sipag. :)
